SUBMISSION POLICY AND AGREEMENT

BY SUBMITTING YOUR WORK FOR PUBLICATION ON THE WORLD WORDS WEBPAGE YOU (THE "ARTIST") ARE CONSENTING TO BE BOUND BY AND ARE BECOMING A PARTY TO THIS SUBMISSION POLICY AND AGREEMENT ("AGREEMENT") WITH WORLD WORDS FOUNDATION INC. ("WORLD WORDS"). IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO ALL OF THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR WORK TO WORLD WORDS.

Guidelines and Content

World Words will consider poetry and short story manuscripts, as well as two-dimensional works of art, including photographic and multi-media, for hosting, publication, marketing and distribution.

In line with our mission, to promote and publish works of literary and visual art from around the world, the Editorial Board encourages submissions in any language and script and in any other mediums. We do request, however, that literary works in languages other than English be accompanied by a summary or an explanatory note and where possible, a reliable translation into English.

All submissions must be accompanied by the Submission Form, which includes your biographical and contact information.

World Words does not pay for works accepted for publication. World Words will not publish any pornographic material or any material that utilizes strong language, excess violence, and/or sexual situations in disrespectful or irresponsible ways. The final decision to publish or market and distribute submitted works is the sole discretion of the Editorial Board of World Word.

Publication and Copyrights

By submitting the work to World Words, the Artist grants permission to World Words to publish the submitted work on the World Words webpage. By such submission, the Artist grants to World Words a non-exclusive, worldwide license to create, display, transmit, archive and distribute reproductions of the work uploaded to WorldWords.org. In preparation for publication on the Internet, World Words may, where necessary, modify the format of the submission without disturbing the integrity of the Artist's work. Publication or reproduction of your work should be considered as the use of World Words in accordance with the non-exclusive use of the rights of your work. The Artist may not modify any work found on World Words. The Artist grants to World Words the right to publish the submitted work in a printed anthology or compilation or reproduction. Any anthologies,compilations or reproduction of the literary and art works that have been submitted to World Words will be done so in consistent with and/or for the purpose of the charitable mission of World Words, including, for example, fund raising to sustain charitable or non-profit activities of World Words.

All other rights, including but not limited to hard copy, CD-ROM, proprietary services and other electronic rights are full reserved by the authors and artists. Any other use of work products other than outlined above must be negotiated separately between World Words and authors/artists on a case by case basis.

Except as otherwise provided in this Agreement, all works submitted to World Words remain the sole property of the Artist, and the Artist will retain all copyrights to the submitted work.

If World Words publishes the Artist's submitted work in any form of publication or medium other than the webpage, World Words shall acknowledge the Artist's copyrights and shall indicate that the work has been reprinted or reproduced with the permission of the Artist, the Artist agrees to grant by submission of the Artist's work to World Words.

If World Words is the first place of publication of the submitted work and if you as the Artist republish the work elsewhere, we do ask that you cite World Words as the first place of publication and include the following citation:

Please notify World Words when your work will be published elsewhere. Also, if you the Artist publish your work on a personal website or elsewhere after it being published on World Words webpage, please include the following near the work on your webpage:

If your work has previously appeared in another publication, please include a citation (including the URL if applicable) in the appropriate field of the Submission Form.

Privacy Protection Policy

World Words requests certain personal information in order to process your submission of an artistic work for publication on the World Words webpage. Except for information specifically designated by you to accompany the submitted work on the webpage, the information provided by you is for World Words alone, unless it is specifically stated otherwise. As a general rule, World Words will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information except when we have your permission, or under special circumstances, such as when we believe in good faith that the law requires it. By accepting this Agreement you permit World Words to include your submitted biographical information along with your work on the webpage. From time to time, World Words may use third parties to collect or distribute information to you and other artists or users of the World Words site. World Words will protect confidentiality and security of that information, and not allow such third parties to use that information other than in connection with the goals of the World Words Foundation.

World Words may preserve the content and may disclose the content of any submission to any third party if required to do so by law, or in the good faith belief that such preservation or disclosure is necessary to:

      (a) comply with legal process;
      (b) respond to claims that any content violated the rights of third parties; or
      (c) protect the rights, property, or personal safety of World Words, its members and the public.

World Words will not sell or rent any of the personal information that you have submitted to anyone. You can choose to have your email or standard address eliminated from our databases entirely by contacting World Words at any time.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the liability of World Words to the Artist for any claim made by the Artist against World Words, whether for violation of copyright or arising from any other cause of action, shall be limited to any earnings attributable to any use by World Words of the Artist's copyrighted work. In no event shall World Words be liable to the Artist for any consequential, incidental, indirect, punitive, special, or similar damages.
