A MORNING COMES
A Morning Comes
A morning comes
Following the night
How thankful!
Waiting hidden without a trace
In the center of darkness,
A morning nears me while I sleep
And wakes me up.
Morning of my life it was
When I praised the darkness,
The stars, the secrets, the wanderings of nights.
Now,
It's at dusk,
The end of time lurks
A few steps away
And the marvels of a morning
Fill my heard with
Refreshing cleanliness,
Small promises,
Joys of yet another start,
Gratitude for the things that repeat,
Peace and sorrow from
Knowing that these marvels will all come to an end.
With the afternoon warmed that lingers
Long after the high noon passed
I embrace the coming of a morning
With gratitude.
A morning,
Mother of universal orderliness,
Comes unfailingly.
How truly thankful.
